Our Speyside distillery day tour from Inverness starts with a tour and tasting at Tomatin Distillery, which has been producing malt whisky since 1897. Having recently been named one of the ‘best in travel’ destination by Lonely Planet (2019), we’re sure you will enjoy your experience, and of course the soft, mellow notes of this wonderful Highland single malt.

Next, we travel through the glorious and lush Spey Valley, passing golden barley fields on our whisky trail, one of the three key ingredients used in the magic of single malt whisky production. We’ll stop by Glenfarclas Distillery for a whisky tasting and enjoy the ambience of the of the distillery’s beautiful and unique “ship’s room”.
Having visited two more traditional distilleries, its onto the Macallan. The new £140m state-of-the-art visitors’ centre was opened in 2018 to much deserved acclaim. Increase in demand has created the need for innovation, whilst remaining true to tradition and heritage. This truly is a remarkable experience, and the whisky is excellent too! Enjoy a tasting and some lunch while exploring the future of single malt production.
It’s back to the traditional we go with a visit to Glen Moray Distillery in Elgin, established in 1897. Enjoy a tasting of the recently launched “Elgin Heritage” range, comprising of a 12, 15 and 18 year old single Speyside malt. Finally, we conclude our Speyside single malt whisky tour at Benromach Distillery, one of the smallest distilleries producing in Scotland. In recent times, this distillery has gone from strength to strength, producing sensational award winning single malts, “beautifully balanced with a wisp of smoke, Benromach classic single malts bring back the unique taste of Speyside whisky almost lost forever”.
